2. Information Weather Handles
Weather provides forecasts, air quality, UV, radar, widgets, and local weather notifications. The app does not require account registration and does not ask for your name, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, or calendar access.
- Saved locations: city or location name, latitude, longitude, country, administrative area, timezone, and whether the saved location represents your current location.
- Device location: when you choose to use current location, Weather may request coarse or precise location from Android to create a local saved location and load weather for that area.
- Weather and air quality cache: current, minutely, hourly, and daily forecast data, air quality, UV, pollen, wind, visibility, pressure, precipitation, fetch time, source label, and stale-status information.
- App settings: units, air quality standard, time format, language, haptic setting, theme, visible cards, alert presets, notification times, notification thresholds, and related app preferences.
- Widget settings: selected widget location, location snapshot, widget theme, and widget background opacity for each configured widget.
- Notification and review state: local settings for weather summaries, weather alerts, review prompt state, app open count, and recent notification re-entry state.
- Usage, diagnostic, advertising, and integrity information: Weather uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase App Check with Play Integrity, Google AdMob, Google Play services, and Google Play in-app review. These services may process app interaction, device, app version, operating system, diagnostic, ad request, advertising-related, and integrity information according to Google's policies.
3. How We Collect Information
- Location data is collected only when you grant Android location permission or select a searched location.
- City search data is sent to Google Places to return matching locations.
- Forecast, air quality, UV, pollen, and radar-related requests may send coordinates to weather or map providers such as Open-Meteo, Photon, BigDataCloud, and Windy.
- Local app, cache, notification, and widget settings are created when you use or configure the app.
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase App Check, Google AdMob, and Google Play services collect data through their SDKs when the app is used.
4. How We Use Information
- To search, save, and display weather for selected locations.
- To show forecasts, precipitation, air quality, UV, pollen, sun and moon, radar, and weather detail cards.
- To update home screen widgets and remember widget configuration.
- To send local weather summaries and weather alert notifications when you enable them.
- To cache weather data and reduce repeated network requests.
- To maintain, debug, secure, measure, and improve Weather.
- To show ads, verify app integrity, and support Google Play review flows through third-party services.
- To respond to support or privacy inquiries that you send to us.
5. Local Storage and Sharing
Weather is designed to store saved locations, app preferences, cached weather data, notification settings, and widget settings on your device. Soosu Studio does not operate a Weather account system and does not upload your saved locations or app preferences to our own server.
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by third-party services used by Weather, including Google Places, Open-Meteo, Photon, BigDataCloud, Windy, Firebase Analytics, Firebase App Check, Google AdMob, Google Play services, Android system services, and device backup services. Those services are governed by their own privacy terms.
If you send a support email, share a screenshot, use device backup, or transfer data through another app or service, that action is controlled by you and may be handled by the service you choose.
6. Permissions
- Location: used to load weather for your current area when you choose current location.
- Internet and network state: used for weather data, air quality data, city search, radar, analytics, ads, app integrity, and related service communication.
- Post notifications: used for weather summaries and alert notifications when enabled.
- Receive boot completed: used to reschedule local weather notifications and widget updates after device restart.
- Vibrate: used for haptic feedback and notification behavior when available.
7. Retention and Deletion
- Saved locations, app preferences, cached weather data, notification settings, and widget settings remain on your device until you remove them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Android device backup may back up app data when enabled on your device.
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase App Check, Google AdMob, Google Play services, and other third-party providers retain data according to their own settings and policies.
- Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain records, or meet legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by Weather. Location and weather preferences can be sensitive, so you should protect your device, backups, screenshots, and any information you share. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
Weather is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Weather, please contact us.
10. International Processing
Information processed by Google, Open-Meteo, Photon, BigDataCloud, Windy, or other service providers may be stored or processed in countries outside your country of residence. We take steps intended to use service providers with appropriate privacy and security commitments.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date below and publish the revised policy on this page.
