2. Information SmartLED Handles
SmartLED lets you create, save, play, back up, restore, and share LED sign presets. The app does not require account registration and does not ask for your name, phone number, contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or calendar access.
- LED presets saved on your device: title, message text, text color, text color mode, text color ranges, background color, glow color, text size, scroll speed, direction, mirror mode, bold and italic settings, LED dot size, edge fade, LED dot shape, row count, sort order, and update time.
- Shared LED links: when you create a share link or QR code, SmartLED uploads the LED preset settings needed to open that shared sign. This includes the message text and visual settings encoded in the share payload, a generated share ID, a custom app link, version information, and creation time.
- Backup and restore files: when you use the data backup or restore feature, SmartLED creates or reads a JSON backup file containing your saved LED presets. The file location and sharing destination are controlled by Android and the app or storage provider you choose.
- QR and shared image files: when you share a QR code or LED settings image, SmartLED may create a temporary file in the app cache so Android can share it through the app you choose.
- App usage, ad, consent, and diagnostic information: SmartLED uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Review, Google Play services, and Android system services. These services may collect app interaction, ad request, consent, device, app version, operating system, crash, diagnostic, and review-flow information according to their own policies.
- Website preferences: the SmartLED web page may store a language preference in your browser's local storage.
3. How We Collect Information
- Information is created when you use the app's editor, save LED presets, or generate share links and QR codes.
- Shared LED link data is sent to Firebase Cloud Firestore only when you choose to create a share link.
- Backup and restore information is handled when you export or import a SmartLED backup file.
- Temporary QR or shared image files are created when you choose to share through Android's sharing flow.
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Review, Google Play services, and Android system services collect data through their SDKs or platform features when the app is used.
- If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android or your device provider may back up app data according to your device settings.
4. How We Use Information
- To save and display your LED sign presets on your device.
- To generate QR codes and shareable links that let another device open the same SmartLED sign settings.
- To export and restore your saved LED presets when you use the backup features.
- To show ads, manage ad consent where required, and keep ad content suitable for a general audience.
- To request an in-app review only when the app determines you may be eligible.
- To maintain, debug, secure, and improve SmartLED and its web sharing page.
- To respond to support or privacy inquiries that you send to us.
5. Sharing and Third-Party Services
SmartLED stores LED presets in a local Room database named led-presets. App review prompt state may be stored in local shared preferences named smartled_in_app_review. QR sharing may use temporary cache files under shared.
We do not sell your personal information. SmartLED uses third-party services including Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Firestore, Firebase Hosting for shared links, Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Review, Google Play services, Android system services, and device backup services. Those services are governed by their own privacy terms.
When you share a QR code, image, URL, backup file, or app link through another app, that sharing action is handled by the app or service you choose. Please review that service's privacy practices before sharing.
6. Public Nature of Shared Links
SmartLED share links are designed to be opened by anyone who has the link. Do not include private, sensitive, confidential, or illegal content in an LED message that you share. If you share a link with someone else, they may further copy or distribute it.
7. Retention and Deletion
- LED presets saved in the app remain on your device until you edit, delete, uninstall, or reset the app, subject to Android backup behavior on your device.
- Backup files remain wherever you save or share them until you delete them from that location.
- Temporary QR or shared image files may remain in the app cache until replaced, cleared, or removed by Android.
- Shared link records may remain in Firebase Cloud Firestore so the links can continue to work. To request deletion of a shared link record, contact us with the share URL.
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Review, Google Play services, and other third-party providers retain data according to their own settings and policies.
- Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain records, or meet legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by SmartLED. Shared link data is stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore with security rules that validate the expected share format. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
SmartLED is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through SmartLED, please contact us.
10. International Processing
Information processed through Firebase, Google, Android services, or other service providers may be stored or processed in countries outside your country of residence. We take steps intended to use service providers with appropriate privacy and security commitments.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date below and publish the revised policy on this page.
